Today Gardsten is invisble from the road, the banks of the site
are currently bare from activity and the assent from the road below
up to Gardsten is unevenful. The landscape itself is part of
reclaimed scar left by the 1970's topography - leveling development above.
It was our aim to utilize this dramatic, heavily damaged topography.
|
The project proposes the creation of a cascading network of terraces,
public pathways, walkways, public buildings, housing and retail
opportunities. This network of walkways and programme activity will
form the new assent to Gardsten and the new gateway to the northeastern
areas of suburban Gothenburg.

The simple use of primary objects as the superimposing circles each
over another. It builds the enclosure to bond the first users of the
VW Golf into the family. For the loyality of the first users who
still drive their Golf, VolksWagen is ready

to giveaway to each
owner another Golf of the latest technology and to show them stories
taken on film by 'VW Golfers' on their trip to Hannover.
Simplicity of idea assisted by simplicty in design.

'The New Development' was an exercise in connecting the separated areas
divided by former Berlin Wall. These exercises have taken place in form
of recreating the existing site and functions in digital form with a
hierarchy of electronic map similar to computer motherboard.
The inputs found on the outside of given area were gently brought into
the structure and developed as the possible mainframes for further
implementations.
Given programme of development of area is used for creating the computer
program which will enable these mainframes to interact.
|
As the result of physical interactions the new created site acts as
the electronic body, the Matrix, with infinitive number of possible plug-ins.
The new plugged chips on map are represented by orange colour.
Shown map is just one version of future shape for the area. Introducing
more precise definition of area will eliminate the random possibilities
and eventually create the perfect condition of the system.
The New Matrix will present the better condition of life and will be
more stable then the old one.

Based on digital mapping the site recreates itself from the matrix
of the possible connections. The local interactions and number of
plugs will enable inserting future structures to feed itself from
given environment.
The spaces are grouped in zones and further connection will share
the stream of information towards the main locations. In overal
picture these are internal connections to share the information
as the streets and motorways.
|
The created in-between spaces are treated as the public spaces
or urban parks depending on position and shape.
The extracted buildings are using information as the computer
chips are using the stream of 0 and 1 to compute and secure
the existence in the overall system.
The smaller parts of buildings are repeated matrixes from bigger
spaces. Their existence is secured as long they are plugged in
the main system and share the data.

Built in prestigious location in London, this Georgian house extends
itself in limited garden. For the purposes of the living it wouldn't
be possible to use traditional technics and use normal metal frame
conservatory, instead there is an alternative which use transparency
as the main approach in opening and enclosing the house.
|
Opposite to
reducing the size of garden, the garden was brought into the house
and open more spaces even inside of it.

Copenhagen's Royal Danish Theatre is created of trails from people
walking from the city into the location. Further on these trails
are multiplied in vertical or horizontal way to form stairs, walls
and if necessary skew to open entrances.
|
Vertically stacking trails
helps to open hidden spaces and to blur the building into the
background environment. Dynamic of trails builds the energy around
the opera house and activates the surrounding buildings to interact
with the drama of play inside.

The 4th competiton for the main refurbishment of the heart of
Belgrade and connection of vital parts of city. The layers of
terraces and platous and also inclosed spaces bridge the Trazije -
the main highstreet with the Central Station of Belgrade and further
on it connects Terazije with river Danube. There is over 50 meters
in height difference. The strong axis sagregates the various public
spaces with mixed urban structures and incorporates level A buildings.
|
Existing streets are roof with the terraces and extended in public
parking lots or bus stations. The very special care is taken of
the existing green market wich is extended into shopping mall and
then brought to the green parks. There is also subway station and
network of internal streets which remain the existing structures.
